I can not see any trains that go after 21:30 from Verona.

To what airport are you going? There are a few airports that are called Verona, one of them is in a taxi ride distance from Desenzano.

I just got it confirmed from the Official Tourist Information Office that the only way to reach Desenzano at that time of day is to take a taxi. How much that would cost, I could not say.

P.s. If you go to Montichiari airport which is written up sometimes as one of the Verona airport, I took a taxi from there to Desenzano once and paid 55 euros for the trip.
