Hotel Alessi

 I stayed at this hotel last fall. They have both rooms and apartments along with a couple of restaurants. I didn´t stay in a hotel room so I can not comment on it´s quality, I stayed in their apartments with a little kitchen and bathroom/shower. They go in range from very little studio up to bigger apartments. I stayed in two types, the smallest and then a larger one as I got a rather noisy neighbour and got moved after some heated debate on the effect of noise on sleep. They compensated me with both bigger apartment and a dinner out. It is a much better choice financially to get an apartment if you are staying for 2 weeks or longer.  It has 2 stars as a hotel. It is a ok place to stay at. As much down town as possible and next to 2 little grocery stores if you don´t want to dine out every night. Not a luxury apartment but I would stay there again. I would like to try out their hotel rooms some day.

Ristorante Corte Pozzi (One of two Hotel Alessi Restaurants)

I tried their more expensive restaurant and I liked it. A place with no roof so you can see the sky from your table.  It is like you are indoors until you look up. Interesting. Food was good but I espesially liked the wine (I still think of the wine but I forgot to memorize the name!!!!). Medium range expensive. They also have a wine bar where you can come in and buy a glass of wine and have some fingerfood along with it. It is a tradition with the locals here to start out an festive evening in a wine bar and then go on to a restaurant.

I would go there again.

Memorable things from the place 

Apart from the wine which I don´t know what is called, they have a dog that is the "Security officer" of the hotel. I think his name was Lupe. He runs around (as do many dogs in Desenzano without causing problems) his usual guard round many times a day, a funny little animal which I greeted every day when I saw hime.
