Rent or buy an apartment at Lake Garda

When I came here I desperately needed an apartment fast, as I was staying at an hotel! I went between agencies here with no luck as mostly because I own a dog and that is a major obstacle, even though dogs are as common here as sand in the sahara;)

A friend of mine, living in Desenzano del Garda, told me to talk to this Gisella at local real estate agency, Futura immobiliare. They have two offices but are the same company. I can recommend them as they not only found me an apartment but also helped me with all the "start-problems" such as weeding through all the red tape regarding gas, electricity and so forth.

They offer apartments and houses for rent for shorter and longer time periods, also they have for sale as well, naturally as this is a real estate agency ;)

Expenses in renting an apartment

If you rent an apartment through an agency you usually pay 3 months, 1 month as an insurance, 1 month as the first month and then 1 month as a payment to the agency. Prices of apartments is starts around 500 euros for a small one bedroom apartment and from 700 for 2 bedroom apartments if you rent for a year. This is only a "guess-timate" and can differ in both directions regarding to position and the quality, I just put it here to give you a general idea. If you rent for a shorter time period it goes up very quickly, espesially in the summer. Then you also have to add electricity, water, gas to the cost of course, about 100-150 a month for a small apartment.
