The Question

Hi there, I don't know if you could offer some advice, but I though it was worth a shot after seeing your webpage.

I'm trying to find a self-catering apartment in densenzano without much luck. We would love somewhere picturesque with some character. Our friends are staying in the Hotel Benaco near the train station and we would just like somewhere that we can cook that is within walking distance or cycling distance to everything. (lake, pool, centre)

I have found some residences but none that seem right - we are looking to spend no around 100 euros per night (our dates are in august from 23rd - 30)

Do you know of anywhere?

I know of two hotels that also rent apartments with a small kitchen.

Hotel Alessi. See article below:
Desenzano del Garda Hotels

Hotel Villa Maria. See their website: Villa Maria

Alessi is down town and have a number of flats to rent. Villa Maria is about 30 minute walk from Desenzano centre and about 5 minutes on a bike. Villa Maria is 5 minutes walking distance from the Golden beach (see 2a Desenzano beaches) and 5 minutes from around 5-8 restaurants in Rivoltella which was a small town but is now under Desenzano "rule" in lack of other words and is considered as Desenzano today. Villa Maria has a swimming pool also and is a nicer hotel (4 stars) and I think they have bikes for their gests, I think, I am not sure. Also it is 2 minutes away from Pennymarket, which is a low cost supermarket. See the last map on this page: Desenzano del Garda Shopping

I have been in Alessi (2stars) and I know a number of people that have stayed at Villa Maria and they were very happy with their stay. Just talk to them both and see their websites. See here the map, 4th from the top, you can see Rivoltella. Lake Garda Map

Also you could talk to a real estate agent in Desenzano, Gisella, she might know of something. She talks English which is not very common here in Italy:)
